Quran 74

This is Quran chapter 74

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

O you who are covered
Rise up and warn!
And your Lord magnify!
And your garments purify!
And abomination shun!
And do not grant favours to gain increase!
And for your Lord be patient!

And when the trumpet is blown, - for that day is a difficult day! For the disbelievers - not easy!

Leave me and him whom I created alone,
And made for him extensive wealth,
And sons that he may look upon,
And I spread for him, ease.
Then he desires that I should increase!
Nay, indeed he is hostile to Our signs!
Soon I will drive him up a hill!
Indeed he reflected and planned!
So may he be killed, - how he planned!
Then, may he be killed, - how he planned!
Then he looked;
Then he frowned and scowled;
Then he turned away, and was big with pride,
Then he said, 'This is only magic exhibited! This is only mortal speech!' -
Soon I will broil him in Hell-fire!
And what shall make you know what Hell-fire is?
It will not leave and will not let alone.
It scorches the flesh;
Over it are nineteen.

And We have made only angels guardians of the fire, and We have only made their number a trial to those who disbelieve; that those who have been given the Book may be certain, and that those who believe may be increased in faith; and that those who have been given the Book and the believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts is sickness, and the disbelievers may say, 'What does God mean by this as a parable?' Thus God leads astray whom He pleases, and guides whom He pleases: and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He; and it is only a reminder to mortals!

Nay, by the moon!
And by the night when it retires!
And the morning when it brightly dawns!
Indeed, it is surely one of the greatest;
A warning to mortals;
To whoever of you wills to go forward or stay behind!

Every soul is pledged for what it earns,
Except the fellows of the right;
In gardens they shall ask each other about the sinners! - 'What drove you into Hell-fire?'

They shall say, 'We weren't of those who prayed; and we didn't feed the poor; and we used to plunge into discussion with those who plunged, and We called the judgment day a lie until the certainty came to us!'

So the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. What ailed them that they turned away from the reminder as though they were frightened asses fleeing from a lion?

Nay, every man of them wished that he might be given scrolls spread out!
Nay, but they did not fear the hereafter!
Nay, indeed, it is a reminder! And let him who will remember it; and they will not remember, except that God please. He is worthy of fear; and worthy to forgive.
