Quran 54
This is Quran chapter 54
In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The Hour draws near, and the moon is split asunder. But if they see a sign they turn away and say, 'Magic, continuous!' And they call it a lie and follow their lusts; but every matter is settled! And certainly there has come to them information with restraint in it - wisdom far-reaching; but warnings do not avail!
So turn away from them! The day when the caller shall call to an awkward thing. Humbly casting down their looks, they shall come forth from the graves, as though they were locusts scattered abroad! Hurrying forward to the caller! The disbelievers shall say, 'This is a difficult day!'
The people of Noah denied before them, and they called our servant a liar; and said, 'A madman!' And he was rejected. So he called upon his Lord, 'Indeed, I am overcome, so help!' Then We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring down! And We made the earth burst forth in springs, and the waters met for a matter decreed. And We carried him on a thing of planks and nails; sailing on beneath our eyes, a reward for him who had been denied!
And certainly We left it as a sign; - but is there any who will remember?
And how was My punishment and My warning?
And certainly We have made the Quran easy to remember - but is there any who will remember?
'Ad denied; and how was My punishment and My warning?
Indeed, We sent on them a raging wind on a day of continuous misfortune! Plucking up men as if they were stumps of uprooted palm-trees.
And how was My punishment and My warning?
And certainly We have made the Quran easy to remember - but is there any who will remember?
Thamud called the warnings lies, and said, 'A mortal, one of us, shall we follow him? Then indeed we would be in error and madness! Is the reminder cast on him alone among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!'
They shall know tomorrow who is the insolent liar. Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and have patience! And inform them that the water is shared between them; each draught shall be sought by turns.
Then they called their companion, and he took and hamstrung. And how was My punishment and My warning? Indeed, We sent against them one noise, and they were like the dry sticks of him who builds a fold.
And certainly We have made the Quran easy to remember - but is there any who will remember?
Lot's people denied the warning. Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot, We saved them at dawn - a favour from Us; thus We reward him who is thankful. And he certainly had warned them of Our assault, but they doubted the warning. And certainly they demanded from him his guests; so We blinded their eyes. - so taste My punishment and warning! And certainly there overtook them in the morning a settled punishment! - so taste My punishment and warning!
And certainly We have made the Quran easy to remember - but is there any who will remember?
And certainly the warning came to Pharaoh's people; they denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of a mighty, powerful one.
Are your disbelievers better than those, or have you an exemption in the scriptures? Or do they say, 'We are a victorious host?' Soon the hosts shall be routed and shall turn their backs.
Nay, the Hour is their promised time! And the Hour is most severe and bitter!
Indeed, the sinners are in error and madness. The day they shall be dragged into the fire upon their faces! - 'Taste the touch of Hell.'
Indeed, everything have We created by decree, and Our command is but one, like the twinkling of an eye!
And certainly We have destroyed the likes of you - but is there any who will remember?
And everything they do is in the books, and every small and great is written down.
Indeed, the pious shall be in gardens and rivers, in a seat of truth, with a powerful King.
