Quran 7-A

This is Quran chapter 7, verses 1 to 79

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Alif.Lam.Mim.Sad.

A book revealed to you, so let there be no straitness in your breast from it - that you may warn with it, and a reminder to the believers.

Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord, and do not follow patrons beside Him; little is what you mind.

And how many a town have We destroyed, and Our violence came upon it by night, or while they slept at noon;

And their cry, when Our violence came upon them, was only that they said, 'Indeed, we were unjust!'

We will surely question those to whom it was sent, and We will surely question the messengers.

And surely We will narrate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent.

The balance on that day is true, and He whose scales are heavy - then those, they are the prosperous.

And he whose scales are light - So those it is who lose themselves for that they used to wrong Our signs.

And certainly, We have established you in the earth, and We have made for you in it livelihoods. Little is what you give thanks.

And certainly We created you, then We fashioned you, then We said to the angels, 'Prostrate to Adam,' So they prostrated, except Iblis, he was not of those who prostrated.

He said, 'What hinders you that you did not prostrate when I commanded you?' He said, 'I am better than him; you have created me of fire, and you created him of clay.'

He said, 'Then go down from it; it is not for you that you be proud in it, so go forth! Indeed, you are of the little ones.'

He said, 'Respite me to the day they are raised.'

He said, 'Indeed, you are of the respited.'

He said, 'For that you have led me into error, surely I will lie in wait for them in your straight path;

Then I will surely come to them, from before them and from behind them; and from their right and from their left, and you will not find most of them thankful.'

He said, 'Go forth from it, despised, expelled; certainly, whoever of them follows you, I will surely fill Hell with you all together.

And, O Adam, dwell you and your wife in the Garden and eat from wherever you will, but do not draw near this tree; then you will be of the unjust.'

Then Satan whispered to them to display to them what was hidden from them of their shame, and he said, 'Your Lord has only forbidden you this tree lest you should be two angels, or you should become of the immortals;'

And he swore to them both, 'Indeed, I am for you among the sincere advisers.'

So he led them astray with deception, and when they tasted the tree, their shame became apparent to them, and they began to stitch upon themselves from the leaves of the garden. And their Lord called to them both, 'Did I not forbid you both from that tree, and say to both of you, indeed, Satan is to you an open enemy?'

They said, 'Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves - and if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall surely be of those who are lost!'

He said, 'Go down, one of you an enemy to the other; And for you in the earth there is an abode, and a provision to a time.'

He said, 'In it you shall live and in it you shall die, and from it you shall be brought forth.'

O children of Adam! Verily, We have sent down to you garments to cover your shame, and plumage; but the garment of piety, that is better. That is of the signs of God, perhaps they may remember.

O children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you as he drove your parents from the garden, stripping from them their garments, to show them their shame; indeed, He sees you - he and his tribe, from where you see them not. Indeed, We have made the devils patrons of those who do not believe.

And when they do an immorality, they say, 'We found our fathers on it, and God has commanded us with it.' Say, 'Indeed, God does not command immorality; do you say against God what you do not know?'

Say: 'My Lord has commanded justice: - set steadfastly your faces at every mosque and call on Him, sincere to Him in the religion. As He brought you forth in the beginning, shall you return.

A part He guides, and upon a part was error due; indeed, they took the devils for their patrons besides God, and they think that they are guided.'

O children of Adam! Take your adornment at every mosque; and eat and drink, but do not be extravagant, indeed, He does not love the extravagant.

Say, 'Who has prohibited the adornment of God which He brought forth for His servants, and the good things of His providing?' Say, 'On the day of resurrection they shall only be for those who believed when in the life of the world.' Thus do We detail the signs for a people who know.

Say, 'My Lord has only prohibited immoralities - what is apparent of it and what is concealed, and sin, and rebellion without justice, and that you associate with God what He has sent down no authority for, and that you say against God what you do not know.'

And to every nation a term; so when their term comes they cannot keep it back an hour nor bring it on.

O children of Adam! If there should come to you messengers from amongst you, narrating to you My signs; then whoever fears God and does right, then there is no fear on them, nor shall they grieve.

But those who say Our signs are lies, and are too big with pride for them, those are the fellows of the fire, they shall dwell in it for ever.

And who is more unjust than he who forges against God a lie, or says His signs are lies? Those, their portion of the Book shall reach them, until when Our messengers come to take them in death, they say, 'Where is what you used to call upon besides God?' They say, 'They have gone astray from us; and they shall bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

He will say, 'Enter - amongst nations who have passed away before you, of jinns and mankind - into the fire.' Whenever a nation enters, it curses its sister; until, when they have all reached it, the last of them will say to the first, 'Our Lord! These led us astray, so give them double punishment of the fire!' He will say, 'For each is double! But you do not know.'

And the first of them will say to the last of them, 'Then you have no preference over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn!'

Indeed, those who say Our signs are lies and are too big with pride for them; the doors of heaven shall not be opened for them, and they shall not enter the garden until the camel shall pass into the needle's eye. And thus do We reward the sinners.

For them is a couch of hell-fire, and above them coverings. And thus do We reward the wrongdoers.

But those who believe and do righteous deeds - We do not burden a soul except its capacity - those are the fellows of the garden, they shall dwell in it for ever.

And We will remove what is in their breasts of ill feeling - there shall flow beneath them rivers, and they shall say, 'Praise belongs to God who guided us to this! And We would not have been guided had not God guided us! - Certainly, the messengers of our Lord came with truth!' And it shall be cried out to them, 'This is Paradise which you have as an inheritance for what you used to do!'

And the fellows of Paradise will call out to the fellows of the Fire, 'Indeed, We have found what our Lord promised us is true; so have you found what your Lord promised is true?' They will say, 'Yes!' And a crier amongst them will cry out, 'The curse of God is on the unjust,

Who turn from the way of God and crave to make it crooked, while in the hereafter they are disbelievers!'

And between them there is a veil, and on al Aaraf are men who know each by their marks; and they shall cry out to the fellows of Paradise, 'Peace be upon you!' They enter it not although they hope.

And when their sight is turned towards the fellows of the Fire, they say, 'Our Lord! Do not place us with the unjust people.'

And the fellows of al Aaraf will cry out to the men whom they know by their marks, saying, 'Of no avail to you were your collections, and what you were so big with pride about;

Are these those you swore God would not reach them with mercy? Enter Paradise; there is no fear upon you, nor shall you grieve.'

And the fellows of the Fire shall cry out to the fellows of the Garden, 'Pour upon us water, or of what God has provided you.' They will say, 'Indeed, God has prohibited them both to the disbelievers;

Who took their religion for a sport and a play; and whom the life of the world beguiled.' - So today We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and that they denied Our signs.

And certainly We have brought them a Book explaining it on knowledge, a guidance and a mercy to a people who believe.

Do they wait except for its interpretation? - The day its interpretation shall come, those who forgot it before will say, 'Indeed, Our Lord's messengers came with the truth, so are there for us any intercessors so they intercede for us or could we return, so we would do other than that which we did?' Verily, they have lost themselves, and what they were forging has gone astray from them.

Indeed, your Lord is God who created the heavens and the earth in six days; then He made for the Throne. He covers the night with the day - it pursues it incessantly - and the sun and the moon and the stars are subject to His command. Aye! - His is the creation and the command, - blessed is God, Lord of the worlds!

Call on your Lord humbly and secretly, indeed, He does not love the transgressors.

And do not corruption in the earth after it has been righted; and call on Him with fear and hope; indeed, the mercy of God is near to the good-doers.

He it is who sends forth the winds as glad tidings before His mercy; until when they lift a heavy cloud, We drive it to a dead land, and send down therewith water, and bring forth therewith of all the fruits; thus do We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may remember.

And the good land brings forth its vegetation by the permission of its Lord; and that which is vile brings forth nothing but scarcity. Thus do We turn about the signs for a people who are grateful.

Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he said, 'O my people! Serve God, you have no god other than Him; indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great day.'

Said the chiefs of his people, 'Indeed, We surely see you in obvious error.'

He said, 'O my people! There is no error in me; but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.

I preach to you the messages of my Lord, and I give you sincere advice; and I know from God what you do not know.

What! Do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord on a man from amongst you, that he may warn you, and that you may fear? And perhaps you may receive mercy.'

But they called him liar, So We saved him and those who were with him in the ship. And We drowned those who said Our signs were lies, indeed, they were a blind people.

And to 'Ad their brother Hud, he said, 'O my people! Serve God, you have no god other than Him; will you not then fear?'

Said the chiefs of those who disbelieved amongst his people, 'Indeed, we surely see you in foolishness, and indeed, we certainly think you are of the liars.'

He said, 'O my people! There is no foolishness in me; but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds;

I preach to you the messages of my Lord; and I am to you a sincere, faithful adviser.

Do you then wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord on a man from amongst you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you vicegerents after Noah's people and increased you in length of stature; remember then the benefits of God perhaps you may prosper!'

They said, 'Have you come to us that we may worship God alone, and leave what our fathers used to worship? Then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful!'

He said, 'Verily, horror and wrath from your Lord have fallen on you; do you wrangle with me about names, which you have named - you and your fathers, for which God sent down no authority; wait then, indeed, I am with you of those who wait.'

So We saved him and those with him, by mercy from Us, and We cut off the roots of those who said Our signs were lies and were not believers.'

And to Thamud their brother Salih, He said, 'O my people! Worship God; you have no god other than Him: verily there has come to you a manifest sign from your Lord. This is the she-camel of God, a sign for you; leave her then to eat in the earth of God, and do not touch her with evil, so a grievous punishment seizes you.

And remember when He made you vicegerents after 'Ad and settled you in the earth, you take for yourselves castles of its plains and carve out mountains into houses; and remember the benefits of God, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption.'

Said the chiefs of those who were big with pride from amongst his people to those who were weak, - to those among them who believed, 'Do you know that Salih is sent from his Lord?' They said, 'Indeed, in that with which he has been sent we are believers.'

Said those who were big with pride, 'Indeed, in that which you believe we are disbelievers.'

Then they hamstrung the she-camel, and rebelled against the command of their Lord and said, 'O Salih! Bring us what you threatened us with, if you are of the messengers.'

Then the earthquake took them, and in the morning they lay prone in their dwellings;

And he turned away from them and said, 'O my people! Verily, I preached to you the message of my Lord, and I advised you sincerely; but you do not love sincere advisers.'
