Quran 36

This is Quran chapter 36

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ya.Sin. By the wise Quran. Indeed, you are of the messengers on a straight way.

A revelation of the Mighty, the Compassionate! That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

Certainly, the sentence has proved true upon most of them so they do not believe.

Indeed, We have placed on their necks fetters, and it is to the chins, so they are with heads raised up. And We have placed before them a barrier, and behind them a barrier; and We have covered them so they do not see. And it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. You can only warn him who follows the reminder, and fears the Merciful in the unseen; so give him glad tidings of forgiveness and a noble reward.

Indeed, We give life to the dead and write down what they have sent before, and their footprints; and everything have We counted in a plain model.

Strike out for them a parable: the fellows of the city when there came to it the messengers; when We sent to them two, but they called them both liars, so we strengthened them with a third; and they said, 'Indeed, we are sent to you.'

They said, 'You are only mortals like us, and the Merciful has not sent down anything; you are only lying.'

They said, 'Our Lord knows that we are surely sent to you, and nothing is on us except clear preaching.

They said, 'Indeed, We see an evil omen from you, if you do not desist we will surely stone you, and surely there shall touch you from us a grievous punishment.'

They said, 'Your evil omen is with you; what! If you are reminded - ? Nay, you are an extravagant people!'

And there came from the remote part of the city a man running. He said, 'O my people! Follow the messengers. Follow those who do not ask you a hire, and they are guided. What ails me that I should not worship Him who originated me, and to whom you shall be returned? Shall I take gods beside Him? If the Merciful desires harm for me, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they rescue me. Indeed, I would then surely be in obvious error; indeed, I believe in your Lord, so listen to me!'

It was said, 'Enter Paradise!' He said, 'O would that my people knew for that my Lord has forgiven me, and has made me of the honoured.'

And We did not send down upon his people after him any hosts from heaven, nor do We send down. It was only a single noise, and lo! They were extinct.

Alas for the servants! There comes to them no messenger but they mock at him!

Have they not seen how many generations We have destroyed before them? Indeed, they shall not return to them; but all shall surely altogether be arraigned before Us.

And a sign for them is the dead earth. We give it life, and We bring forth from it grain, and from it they eat. And We made therein gardens of palms and grapes, and We have caused springs to gush forth therein, that they may eat of its fruit, and their hands made it not; will they not then give thanks?

Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth grows and of themselves, and of what they do not know.

And a sign for them is the night. From it We strip off the day, then lo! They are in darkness.

And the sun runs on to a place of rest for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing.

And the moon, We have ordained for it mansions, until it returns like the old palm branch.

It is not proper for the sun to overtake the moon, nor for the night to outstrip the day, but each floats in an orbit.

And a sign for them is that We bear their seed in the laden ship, and We have created for them from the like of it what they ride; and if We please, We drown them, and there is none for them to appeal to; nor are they rescued, except by mercy from Us, and provision for a while.

And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you, perhaps you may obtain mercy.'

And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, but they turn away from it.

And when it is said to them, 'Spend of what God has provided you,' Those who disbelieve say to those who believe, 'Shall we feed him whom, if God pleased, He would feed? You are only in obvious error.'

And they say, 'When is this promise, if you are truthful?'

They await only a single noise, it shall seize them while they are disputing. And they shall not be able to make bequest; nor shall they return to their people.

And the trumpet is blown, then behold, from their graves to their Lord they shall slip out!

They shall say, 'O woe is us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping-place? This is what the Merciful promised, and the messengers told the truth!'

It shall be only a single noise, and lo! They are all arraigned before Us.

So today no soul shall be wronged anything, and you shall not be recompensed, except what you used to do.

Indeed, the fellows of Paradise, today are employed in enjoyment; they and their wives, in shade on thrones, reclining; therein they shall have fruits, and they shall have what they call for. 'Peace!' - a word from a compassionate Lord!

'But separate yourselves today, you sinners! Did I not covenant with you, O children of Adam! That you should not serve the devil? Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy; but that you serve Me, this is a straight way. And indeed, he led astray many a generation of you; What! Had you then no sense? This is Hell,  which you were promised. Burn therein today, for that you disbelieved!'

Today We will seal their mouths, and their hands shall speak to Us, and their feet shall bear witness of what they earned.

And if We pleased We would have surely put out their eyes, and they would race to the path; then how would they see?

And if We willed surely We would have transformed them in their places, then they would not be able to go on, nor return.

And him to whom We grant old age, We reverse him in creation; have they then no sense?

We have not taught him poetry, nor is it proper for him; it is nothing but a reminder and a plain Quran, to warn whoever is living; and justify the word against the disbelievers.

Have they not seen that We have created for them of what our hands have made, cattle, and they are for them masters? And We have tamed them for them, So some of them they ride, and some of them they eat. And therein they have advantages and beverages; will they not then give thanks?

But they take, beside God, gods that perhaps they may be helped. They cannot help them, but they are a host ready for them.

But let not their speech grieve you: Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they display.

Has not man seen that We have created him from a drop of seed? And lo! He is an open opponent; and he strikes out for us a likeness; and forgets his creation; He says, 'Who shall give life to the bones while they are rotten?'

Say, 'He shall give them life who produced them at first; and He is knowing of all creation.'

Who has made for you fire from the green tree,  and behold! You kindle from it.

Is not He who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yea! And He is the Knowing Creator; His command is only, when he desires a thing to say to it, 'Be,' and it is. So glory be to Him in whose hand is the kingdom of everything! And to Him you shall return.
