Quran 6-A

This is Quran chapter 6, verses 1 to 92

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Praise belongs to God, the one who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light. Then those who disbelieve ascribe equals with their Lord.

He it is who created you from clay; then He decreed a term, - and a term specified with Him. Then you doubt.

And He is God in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your secret and your open, and He knows what you earn.

And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord but they turn away from it.

Then indeed, they have called the truth a lie when it came to them, but soon there shall come to them news of what they mocked at.

Do they not see how many a generation We have destroyed before them, We had established them in the earth as We have not established you, and We sent the sky upon them in copious showers, and We made the rivers flow beneath them? Then We destroyed them in their sins, and raised up other generations after them.

Had We sent down to you a book on paper, and they had touched it with their hands, those who disbelieve surely would have said, 'This is nothing but obvious magic.'

And they say, 'Why has not an angel been sent down on him?' And if We had sent down an angel the affair surely would have been decided, then they would have had no respite.

And had We made him an angel, certainly We would have made him a man; and certainly We would have confused for them what they are confusing.

And certainly messengers before you were mocked, but those who scoffed of them were encompassed by what they mocked at.

Say, 'Travel in the earth then see how was the end of the deniers.'

Say, 'Whose is what is in the heavens and the earth?' Say, 'God's.' He has prescribed mercy on Himself. He will surely gather you together to the resurrection day. There is no doubt about it, those who have lost their souls, then they do not believe.

And His is whatever dwells in the night and the day, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

Say, 'Shall I take a patron other than God, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, And He feeds, And is not fed?' Say, 'Indeed, I have been commanded to be the first who submits, "And be not of the idolaters."'

Say, 'Indeed, I fear, if I rebel against my Lord, the punishment of a mighty day.'

Whomever it is averted from on that day, then surely He will have had mercy on him; and that is the manifest triumph.

And if God touches you with harm, then there is no remover of it but He. And if He touches you with good, then He is powerful over everything.

And He is the Supreme over His servants, and He is the Wise, the Aware.

Say, 'What thing is greatest as a testimony?' Say, 'God is witness between me and you. And this Quran was inspired to me that I may warn you with it and whoever it reaches. Do you indeed testify that there are other gods with God?' Say, 'I do not testify.' Say, 'He is only one God, and indeed I am clear of what you associate.'

Those to whom We have given the Book know him as they know their sons; - those who lose their souls, then they do not believe.

And who is more unjust than he who forges against God a lie, or says His signs are lies? Indeed, the wrongdoers shall not prosper.

And the day We shall gather them all together, then We shall say to those who have associated others, 'Where are your associates those whom you used to claim?'

Then they will have no excuse but to say, 'By God, Our Lord, we were not idolaters!'

See how they lie against themselves, and what they forged has gone astray from them!

And among them are those who listen to you, but We have placed a veil upon their hearts lest they should understand it, and in their ears is deafness; and though they saw each sign they would not believe in it; until when they come to you to argue with you, those who disbelieve say, ' This is nothing but tales of the ancients.'

And they forbid it and they avoid it; - but they destroy none but themselves; and they do not perceive.

And if you could see when they are stationed before the fire and say, 'Oh, would that we were sent back! And we would not call our Lord's signs lies, and we would be of the believers!'

Nay! Is shown to them what they hid before; and if they were sent back certainly they would return to what they were forbidden, and indeed, they certainly are liars.

And they say, 'There is nothing except our life of the world and we shall not be raised.'

If you could see when they are stationed before their Lord; He says, 'Is this not the truth?' They say, 'Yea, by our Lord!' He says, 'Then taste the punishment, for that you used to disbelieve.'

Lost indeed are those who deny the meeting with God, until when the Hour comes suddenly upon them they say, 'Oh! Our regret over what we neglected concerning it.' And they shall bear their burdens on their backs, evil is what they bear.

And the life of the world is nothing but a play and a sport, and surely the home of the hereafter is better for those who fear. Do you not then understand?

Indeed, we know that what they say grieves you; And indeed, they do not call you liar; but the unjust deny the signs of God.

And certainly messengers before you were called liars; but they were patient of being called liars and of being hurt until Our help came to them; and there is none to change the words of God - And certainly there has come to you of the news of the messengers.

And if their turning away is hard for you, then if you are able to seek a tunnel in the earth, or a ladder in the sky, to bring them a sign - but if God willed surely He would have gathered them on the guidance, so do not be of the ignorant.

Only those who hear will answer; but the dead God will raise them up, then to Him they shall be returned.

And they say, 'Unless there is sent down a sign from his Lord' - Say, 'Indeed, God is able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.'

And there is not a beast in the earth nor a bird that flies with both its wings, but are nations like you; We have neglected nothing in the Book; then to their Lord they shall be gathered.

And those who say Our signs are lies- deafness and dumbness, in darkness! Whomever God wills - He leads him astray, and whomever He wills He places him on the straight path.

Say, 'Have you seen if there came to you God's punishment or there came to you the Hour- would you call on other than God, if you are truthful?'

Nay, on Him you would call, and He will remove what you call upon Him for if He wills; and you shall forget what you associate.

And certainly We sent to nations before you, then We seized them with distress and adversity that perhaps they might be humble.

And if only, when Our violence came upon them, they had been humble! - But their hearts were hard, and the devil made what they had done seem fair to them.

And when they forgot what they were reminded of, We opened on them the gates of everything, until when they rejoiced in what they were given, We seized them suddenly, and lo! They were in despair.

And the roots of the people who did wrong were cut off; and praise belongs to God, Lord of the worlds!

Say, 'Have you seen if God seizes your hearing and your sight, and sets a seal on your hearts - who is god other than God to bring it to you?' See how We turn about the signs; then they turn away.

Say, 'Have you seen if God's punishment should come upon you suddenly or openly, would any be destroyed except the unjust people?'

And We do not send the messengers except as heralds of glad tidings and of warning, and whoever believes and acts aright, then there is no fear upon them, and they shall not grieve.

And those who say Our signs are lies, the punishment shall touch them, for that they used to defiantly disobey.

Say, 'I do not say to you that with me are the treasuries of God, nor that I know the unseen; and I do not say to you, I am an angel - I only follow what is revealed to me.' Say, 'Are the blind and the seeing equal? What! Do you not reflect?

And warn with it those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord; there is no patron for them besides Him, and no intercessor; perhaps they may fear.

And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, desiring His face; not upon you is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account; - so were you to drive them away, then you would be of the unjust.

And thus We have tried some of them with others, that they may say, 'Are these those unto whom God has been gracious amongst us?' Does not God know those who give thanks?

And when those who believe in Our signs come to you, then say, 'Peace be on you! Your Lord has prescribed upon Himself mercy; indeed, he of you who does evil in ignorance, then turns after it and does right, - then indeed, He is forgiving, compassionate.'

And thus do We detail the signs, that the way of the sinners may be manifest.

Say, 'Indeed, I am forbidden to worship those whom you call on besides God.' Say, 'I will not follow your lusts, certainly I would err then and I would not be of the guided.'

Say, 'Indeed, I am on a clear sign from my Lord, and you call it a lie. Not with me is what you seek to hasten of it. The judgment is only God's. He relates the truth, and He is the Best of deciders.'

Say, 'If what you seek to hasten of it were with me, the matter would have certainly been decided between you and me; and God knows best of the unjust.'

And with Him are the keys of the unseen. None knows them but He; And He knows what is in the land and the sea; and not a leaf falls but He knows it; nor a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything that is moist, nor anything that is dry, but is in a clear Book.

And it is He who takes your souls by night, and knows what you have committed by day; then He raises you up therein, that an appointed term may be fulfilled; then to Him is your return, then He will inform you of what you have done.

And He is the Supreme over His servants; and He sends guardians over you; until when death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him, and they neglect not.

Then they are returned to God, their true sovereign. His is the Judgment and He is the swiftest of reckoners.

Say, 'Who saves you from the darkness of the land and the sea?' You call upon Him in humility and in secret, 'Indeed, if He saves us from this, we will surely be of the thankful.'

Say, 'God saves you from it, and from every trouble, then you associate others.'

Say, 'He is able to send punishment on you from above you or from beneath your feet, or to confuse you into sects, and to make some of you taste the violence of others.' See how We turnabout the signs; perhaps they may understand.

And your people called it a lie, while it is the truth. Say, 'I have not charge over you.'

For every news is a fixed time, and soon you will know.

And when you see those who plunge into Our signs, then turn away from them until they plunge into discourse other than it; and it may be that Satan may make you forget; but do not sit, after the remembrance, with the unjust people.

Nothing of their account falls upon those who fear; but a reminding; perhaps they may fear.

And leave those who have taken their religion as a play and a sport, and whom the life of the world has deceived, and remind with it lest a soul is given up for what it has earned; besides God, it has no patron and no intercessor; and though it should compensate - every compensation, it would not be taken from it. Those are the ones who are given up for what they have earned, for them is a drink of boiling water, and grievous punishment for that they disbelieved.

Say, 'Shall we call, besides God, on what neither profits us nor harms us, and be turned back on our heels after God has guided us, like him whom Satan has led away bewildered in the earth, who has companions who call him to guidance, "Come to us?"' Say, 'Indeed, God's guidance, it is the guidance, and we are commanded to surrender to the Lord of the worlds.

And be steadfast in prayer and fear Him, and He it is to whom you shall be gathered.'

He it is who created the heavens and the earth with truth; and the day He says, 'Be,' Then it is. His word is the truth; His is the kingdom on the day the trumpet shall be blown; the knower of the unseen and the visible; and He is the Wise, the Aware.

And when Abraham said to his father Azar, 'Do you take idols for gods? Indeed, I see you and your people in obvious error.'

And thus did We show Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, so that he would be of those who are sure.

And when the night overshadowed him he saw a star. He said, 'This is my Lord;' But when it set, he said, 'I love not those that set.'

And when he saw the moon rising, he said, 'This is my Lord;' But when it set he said, 'If my Lord does not guide me I shall surely be of the people who err.'

And when he saw the sun rising he said, 'This is my Lord, this is greater;' But when it set, he said, 'O my people! Indeed, I am clear of what you associate.

Indeed, I have turned my face to Him who originated the heavens and the earth, upright, and I am not of the idolaters.'

And his people disputed with him; - he said, 'Do you dispute with me concerning God, and certainly He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him, except my Lord wills anything. My Lord encompasses everything in knowledge, will you not then remember?

And how should I fear what you associate while you do not fear that you have associated with God what He has not sent down on you authority for it? So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you know?

Those who believe and do not obscure their faith with wrong, those, for them is security and they are guided.

And that is Our argument, We gave it to Abraham against his people; - We raise up in degrees whom We will; Indeed, your Lord is wise, knowing.

And We bestowed to him Isaac and Jacob, All We guided. And Noah We guided before; and of his seed, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. And thus We reward the good-doers.

And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias, all were of the righteous.

And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot, and all We preferred above the worlds;

And of their fathers and their seed and their brothers; and We chose them and We guided them to a straight path.

That is God's guidance; He guides with it whom He wills of His servants; and if they associate anything with Him, - surely vain for them is what they have worked.

Those are the ones to whom We gave the Book and the judgment and the prophethood; and if these disbelieve in it, then indeed, We have entrusted it to a people who are not disbelievers in it.

Those are the ones whom God has guided, and by their guidance be led. Say, 'I will not ask you for it a reward: it is nothing except a reminder to the worlds.'

They do not prize God at His true worth when they say, 'God has not sent down anything on a mortal.' Say, 'Who revealed the Book which Moses came with, a light and a guidance for mankind? You put it on papers which you show, and you hide much; and you are taught what you knew not, neither you nor your fathers.' Say, 'God,' Then leave them in their discussion to play.

And this is a Book which We have sent down, blessed, confirming that which was before it, and that you may warn the mother of the cities, and those who are around her. And those who believe in the hereafter believe in it, and they over their prayers are guarding.
