Quran 42

This is Quran chapter 42

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ha.Mim.
'Ayn.Sin.Qaf.
Thus God, the Mighty, the Wise, inspires you and those before you. His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, and He is the High, the Great!

The heavens almost cleave asunder from above them; and the angels celebrate the praises of their Lord, and ask forgiveness for those who are on the earth. Ay, indeed, God - He is the Forgiving, the Compassionate!

And those who take beside Him patrons, God watches over them, and you have not charge over them.

And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother of the cities, and whoever is around it; and warn of a day of gathering, there is no doubt in it; - A part in Paradise and a part in the blaze.

And if God had pleased He would have made them one nation; but He makes whom He will enter into His mercy; and the unjust have neither patron nor helper.

Or do they take other patrons besides Him? But God - He is the patron, and He gives life to the dead, and He is powerful over everything.

And whatever thing you dispute about, then the judgment of it is God's. That is God! - my Lord! Upon Him do I rely, and to Him I turn repentant.

Originator of the heavens and the earth, He has made for you from yourselves mates; and of the cattle mates; producing you thereby. There is nothing like Him, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

His are the keys of the heavens and the earth, He extends provision to whom He will, and straitens. Indeed, He has knowledge of everything.

He has ordained for you of the religion what He charged Noah with, and what We inspired you with, and what We charged Abraham and Moses and Jesus with, - to be steadfast in religion, and not to part into sects therein - a great thing to the idolaters is that which you call them to! God elects for Himself whom He pleases and guides to Himself whoever turns repentant.

But they did not part into sects until after the knowledge had come to them, through envy among themselves; and had it not been for a word already passed from your Lord for an appointed time, it would surely have been decided between them; but indeed, those who have been given the Book as an inheritance after them, are surely in hesitating doubt concerning it.

So to that then summon, and go straight on as you are commanded, and do not follow their lusts; and say, 'I believe in what God has sent down of the Book; and I am commanded to be just between you. God is our Lord and your Lord; we have our works and you have your works; there is no argument between us and you. God will assemble us together and to Him the journey is.'

But those who argue about God after it has been assented to, their arguments shall be rebutted before their Lord; and upon them is wrath, and for them is severe punishment.

God it is who has sent down the Book with truth, and the balance; and what shall make you know? Perhaps the Hour is near.

Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it; and those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Ay, indeed, those who dispute concerning the Hour are certainly in far error!

God is subtle with His servants; He provides for whom He will. And He is the Strong, the Mighty.

Whoever wishes for the tilth of the hereafter, We increase for him in his tilth; and whoever desires the tilth of the world, We give him of it: but in the hereafter he shall have no portion.

Or have they associates who have made lawful for them of the religion what God has not permitted? - but were it not for the word of decision, surely it would have been decided between them. And indeed, the unjust, - for them is grievous punishment.

You will see the unjust fearful of what they have earned, and it will befall them; and those who believe and do good works are in meadows of the gardens, they shall have what they please with their Lord; that - it is the great grace.

That is what God gives good news of to His servants who believe and do righteous acts. Say, 'I do not ask for it a payment - except the love among the relatives.' And whoever gains a good deed, We increase good for him therein; indeed, God is forgiving, grateful!

Or do they say he has forged against God a lie? But if God pleased He could set a seal upon your heart; but God blots out the falsehood and verifies the truth by His Words; Indeed, He knows the nature of the breasts!

And He it is who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons the evil deeds, and He knows what you do.

And He answers those who believe and do good works, and gives them increase of His grace; and the disbelievers, - for them is severe punishment.

And if God extends the provision to His servants surely they would rebel in the earth. But He sends down by measure what He pleases; indeed, of His servants He is aware, seeing.

He it is who sends down the rain after they have despaired; and disperses His mercy, and He is the praiseworthy patron.

And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and what He has dispersed in both of them of beasts; and He is able to gather them when He will.

And whatever of misfortune befalls you it is for what your hands have earned; And He pardons much; and you are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and beside God you have no patron nor helper.

And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. If He will, He calms the wind, and they become motionless on its back: indeed, in that surely are signs for every patient, grateful one. - Or He makes them founder for what they have earned; and He pardons much.

And let those who dispute concerning Our signs know they have no escape.

And whatever you are given it is but a provision of the life of the world; but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord, and those who avoid great sins and abominations, and when they are angry they forgive, and those who respond to their Lord, and are steadfast in prayer, and their affairs go by counsel amongst themselves, and from what We have provided them they spend, and those who when wrong befalls them, they help themselves. For the recompense of evil is evil like it; but whoever pardons and does well, then his reward is on God; indeed, He does not love the unjust. And surely whoever helps himself after he has been wronged, for those - there is no way against them. The way is only against those who wrong mankind and rebel in the earth without right; those - for them is grievous punishment. But surely whoever is patient and forgives, - indeed, that is surely of matters of determination.

And whomsoever God leads astray - he has no patron after Him; and you shall see the unjust when they see the punishment say, 'Is there any way to return?'

And you shall see them exposed to it humbled with abasement, looking with a stealthy glance. And those who believe shall say, 'Indeed, the losers are those who have lost themselves and their families on the resurrection day!' Ay, indeed, the unjust are in lasting punishment! And they shall have no patrons to help them beside God, and whomsoever God leads astray, there is no way for him.

Respond to your Lord before a day comes from God of which there is no averting; no refuge for you on that day; and for you there is no denial.

But if they turn aside, We have not sent you as a guardian over them, you have only to preach. And indeed, when We have made man taste mercy from us he rejoices in it; but if there befall them an evil for what their hands have sent forth - then indeed, man is ungrateful!

God's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, He creates what He pleases, He grants to whom He pleases females, and He grants to whom He pleases males, or He gives them in pairs, males and females; and He makes whom He pleases barren; indeed, He is knowing, powerful!

And it is not for any mortal that God should speak to Him, except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger and inspiring, by His permission, what He pleases; indeed, He is high, wise!

And thus We have inspired you by a spirit at Our command; you did not know what the Book was, nor the faith; but We made it a light whereby We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, you surely guide to a straight path, - the way of God, whose is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. Ay, to God affairs do tend!
