Quran 27

This is Quran chapter 27

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ta.Sin. Those are the signs of the Quran and a clear Book; a guidance and good news to the believers, who are steadfast in prayer, and give alms, and of the hereafter, they are sure.

Indeed, those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have made their works pleasing to them, and they shall wander blindly on! These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and they shall be the greatest losers in the hereafter.

And indeed, you surely receive the Quran from one wise, knowing.

When Moses said to his people, 'Indeed, I perceive a fire, I will bring you from there news or I will bring you a burning torch; perhaps you may warm yourselves.'

But when he came to it, he was called, 'Blessed is whoever is in the fire, and whoever is around it! And celebrated be the praises of God, Lord of the worlds! O Moses! Indeed, I am God, the Mighty, the Wise. And throw down your staff!' And when he saw it quivering, as though it were a snake, he turned back fleeing, and did not return. 'O Moses! Do not fear; indeed the messengers do not fear in My presence; except those who have done wrong then substitute good for evil; and indeed, I am forgiving, compassionate! And put your hand in your bosom, it shall come forth white without hurt; - among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; indeed they are a people who act abominably.'

And when our signs came to them visibly, they said, 'This is obvious magic!' And they denied them - though their souls acknowledged them - unjustly, haughtily; but behold how was the end of the evil doers!

And We gave David and Solomon knowledge; and they said, 'Praise belongs to God, who has preferred us over many of His servants who believe!'

And Solomon was David's heir; and he said, 'O mankind! We have been taught the speech of birds, and we have been given of everything; indeed, this is surely an obvious grace!'

And assembled for Solomon were his armies of the jinns, and men, and birds, and they were marshalled; until when they came upon the valley of the ants. An ant said, 'O you ants! Go into your dwellings, lest Solomon and his armies crush you while they do not perceive.'

And he smiled, laughing at her speech, and said, 'O Lord! Excite me to be thankful for Your favour, which You have favoured me and my parents and that I may do righteousness which will please You; and make me enter, by Your mercy, amongst Your righteous servants!'

And he reviewed the birds, and said, 'Why do I not see the hoopoe? Or is he among the absent? I will surely punish him with a severe punishment; Or I will surely slaughter him; Or he shall bring me clear authority.'

And he tarried not long, and said, 'I have comprehended that which you have not comprehended; for I bring you from Sheba a sure information: indeed, I found a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a mighty throne; and I found her and her people adoring the sun instead of God, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them, and turned them from the path, so they are not guided. So that they do not adore God who brings forth the secrets in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you hide and what you manifest - God, there is no god but He, Lord of the mighty throne!'

He said, 'We will see whether you have told the truth, or you are of the liars. Go with this my letter and throw it before them, then turn away from them, and see what they return.'

She said, 'O you chiefs! Indeed, a noble letter has been thrown before me. Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed it is, "In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Do not rise up against me, but come to me in surrender."'

She said, 'O you chiefs! Pronounce sentence for me in my affair. I never decide on an affair until you testify for me.'

They said, 'We are possessors of might and possessors of great prowess, but it is for you to command; so consider what you will command.'

She said, 'Indeed, kings when they enter a city, they ruin it and make the mighty ones of its people abased; thus it is they do! So, indeed, I am going to send to them a gift, and will wait to see with what the messengers return.'

And when he came to Solomon, he said, 'Do you proffer me wealth, and what God has given me is better than what He has given you? Nay, you rejoice in your gifts! Return to them, for we will surely come to them with hosts which they cannot confront; and we will surely drive them out from there, abased and made small!'

He said, 'O you chiefs! Which of you will bring me her throne, before they come to me in surrender?'

An Ifrit of the jinns said, 'I will bring you it before you can rise up from your place, and indeed, I for it am surely strong, faithful.'

He who had knowledge of the Book said, 'I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you.' And when he saw it settled down beside him, he said, 'This is of my Lord's grace, to try me whether I am grateful or ungrateful, and whoever is grateful is only grateful for his own soul, and whoever is ungrateful, - then indeed, my Lord is rich, generous.'

He said, 'Disguise for her her throne; let us see whether she is guided, or whether she is of those who are not guided.'

And when she came it was said, 'Was your throne like this?' She said, 'It might be it;' and we were given the knowledge before her, and we were in surrender but that which she served beside God turned her away; indeed, she was of the unbelieving people.

And it was said to her, 'Enter the pavilion;' and when she saw it, she supposed it was a pool, and she uncovered her legs. He said, 'Indeed, it is a pavilion paved with glass!'

She said, 'My Lord! Indeed, I have wronged myself, and I surrender with Solomon to God, Lord of the worlds!'

And certainly, we sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, 'Serve God;' but behold, they were two parties who contended!

He said, 'O my people! Why do you hasten on the evil before the good? Why do you not ask forgiveness of God? Perhaps you may obtain mercy.'

They said, 'We consider you a bad omen, and those with you.'

He said, 'Your omen is with God; nay but you are a people being tested!'

And there were in the city nine persons who despoiled the land and did not right. They said, ' Swear to each other by God, we will surely attack him and his people; then we will surely say to his next of kin, "We did not witness the destruction of his people, and indeed, we are surely truthful."'

And they plotted a plot, and We plotted a plot, but they did not perceive. Then see how was the end of their plot, that We destroyed them and their people all together! So those are their houses overturned, because they were unjust; indeed, in that surely is a sign to people who know. And we saved those who believed and who did fear.

And Lot when he said to his people, 'Do you approach an abominable sin while you can see? Do you indeed approach men lustfully rather than women? Nay! You are a people who are ignorant.'

But the answer of his people was only to say, 'Drive out Lot's family from your city! Indeed, they are a people who would keep pure.'

So We saved him and his family except his wife, her We destined to be of those who remained behind; and We rained down upon them rain, and evil was the rain of those who were warned.

Say, 'Praise belongs to God; and peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen! Is God better, or what they associate?'

Or who created the heavens and the earth; and sends down for you from the heaven water; and We cause to grow therewith gardens full of beauty; you could not cause the trees thereof to grow! Is there a god with God? Nay, they are a people who ascribe equals!

Or who made the earth settled, and placed amongst it rivers; and placed upon it firm mountains; and placed between the two seas a barrier; is there a god with God? Nay, but most of them do not know!

Or who answers the distressed when he calls upon Him and removes the evil; and makes you successors in the earth; is there a god with God? Little is it that you are mindful.

Or who guides you in the darkness, of the land and the sea; and who sends the winds as good news before His mercy; is there a god with God? High is God above what they associate!

Or who began the creation and then will make it return again; and who provides you from the heaven and the earth; is there a god with God? Say: 'Bring your proofs if you are truthful!'

Say, 'None in the heavens or the earth know the unseen except God; and they do not perceive when they shall be raised!' - Nay, their knowledge fails as to the hereafter; nay, they are in doubt of it! Nay, they are blind to it!

And those who disbelieved said, 'What! When we have become dust and our fathers too, shall we indeed be brought forth? Certainly, we were promised this, we and our fathers before, this is nothing but legends of the former peoples!'

Say: 'Travel in the land and see how was the end of the sinners!' And do not grieve for them, nor be in distress because of what they plot.

And they say, 'When shall this threat be if you are truthful?'

Say, 'It may be that there is pressing close behind you a part of that which you seek to hasten on!'

And indeed, your Lord is full of grace to mankind, but most of them are not thankful; and indeed, your Lord surely knows what their breasts conceal and what they manifest; and there is no secret thing in the heaven or the earth, except that it is in a clear Book!

Indeed, this Quran relates to the children of Israel most of that concerning which they are at variance; and indeed, it is surely a guidance and a mercy to the believers.

Indeed, your Lord will decide between them by His judgement. And He is the Mighty, the Knowing. So rely upon God, indeed, you are on obvious truth.

Indeed, you cannot make the dead to hear, and you cannot make the deaf to hear the call when they have turned to flee; nor are you a guide to the blind, out of their error: You can only make to hear such as believe in Our signs and so they surrender.

And when the sentence falls upon them We will bring forth a creature from the earth speaking to them, that mankind were, of Our signs, not sure.

And the day We will gather from every nation a troop of those who said Our signs were lies; and they shall be marshalled; until when they come, He will say, 'Did you say My signs were lies, not comprehending them in knowledge? Or what have you been doing?'

And the sentence shall fall upon them because they did wrong, and they shall not have speech.

Did they not see that we have made the night for them to rest in, and the day to see by? Indeed, in that surely are signs to people who believe.

And the day the trumpet shall be blown and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth shall be startled, except whom God pleases! And all shall come abjectly to Him. And you shall see the mountains, which you deem solid, pass away like the passing of the clouds; - the work of God who has created everything very well; indeed, He is well aware of what you do!

Whoever brings good, he shall have better than it; and from the alarm of that day they shall be safe: and whoever brings evil, shall be thrown down upon their faces in the Fire. Shall you be rewarded except for what you have done?

I have only been commanded to serve the Lord of this country who has made it sacred, and whose are all things; and I have been commanded to be of those who surrender, and to recite the Quran. And whoever is guided, then he is only guided for himself; and whoever errs, - then say, 'I am only a warner!'

And say, 'Praise belongs to God, He will show you His signs, and you shall recognise them; and your Lord is not unaware of what you do!
